ISA offers a variety of ways to participate in volunteering/interning abroad through ELAP: The standard ELAP placement allows participants to volunteer/intern with an organization during 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 weeks (depending on the site chosen). This is a stand-alone program and does not include an ISA study abroad component.

A student already participating in an ISA semester, trimester or year program may add the ELAP program and will volunteer/intern with an organization around their class schedule.

A student can participate in ELAP as an Add-on program before or after an Intensive Month, Summer, Semester or Year program, if it's a possibility.

Program lengths depend on the program and location chosen and each organization's requirements.
